Carlisle at District III Championships

Monday, May 23

THREE-PEAT! Congratulations to the Boys' Track and Field team which successfully defended their District III Championship with a 3rd straight title this past weekend! Seeded to place 5th coming into the weekend, the Thundering Herd fought at every event, squeezing points from every event area. We will be sending a record number of competitors to States next week. Leading the way for the Boys were Matt Wisner and Ali Brown. Matt was our boys' only individual District Champion winning the 800. He also anchored the 4x800 relay to another gold and placed 3rd in the 3200. Ali claimed bronze in both hurdle events for which he holds both school records in the 110 high hurdles and the 300 intermediates. Ali also anchored the 4x100 relay to a 3rd place finish. Other medalists scoring team points and headed to states are Mychael Thomas, Prince Gaye, Sam Blumenthal, Isaac Kole, Jared Griffie, Kyshawn Trinidad and Jack Wisner.

The Lady Herd had a big day at the District meet as well and came up 2nd to only the star sprint squad from Susquehanna Township. The 2nd place team finish is as high as the girls have been since their own 2011 District title. Leading the way for the girls was again an 800 meter District Champion, Maddie Kole. Maddie also came through big in both our 4x800 meter relay at the start of the day and our 4x400 meter relay to end the day. Other girls medaling and heading to states include Sarah Bourdon, Meg Lebo, Addy Jastron, Meg Tate, Najae Nickerson, and Abby Walters.

Carlisle at Mid Penn Conference Championships

Monday, May 16

Congrats to the Boys Track and Field team on their 4th place finish at Mid-Penns over the weekend. The team racked up 57 points and was led by Matt Wisner who earned All-Conference honors in all 4 events he ran in. He won the mile going 4:18, doubled back to medal in the 800 and also came up big for two of our relay teams earning himself and several teammates more medals. Ali Brown won the 300 hurdle event and claimed silver in the 110 hurdles.

The Lady Herd also placed 4th as a team scoring a nearly identical 55 points. Leading the girls' team was Maddie Kole who won the 800, placed 3rd in the mile and, like Wisner, came up big for two of our relay teams earning them all conference medals as well.

Carlisle at Stan Morgan Invitational

Monday, May 9

The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted the Stan Morgan Invitational at Carlisle on Saturday. The Thundering Herd had won this late season invitational for the past 5 years, but was knocked off by a high quality program from Maryland: Our Lady of Good Counsel, by a score of 92 to 84. No other team of the 34 schools represented scored over 40 points. The Boys were led by the meet MVP, Ali Brown who won the 300 hurdles, scored a silver in the 110 hurdles, and led both the 4x100 and 4x400 to top-3 finishes. Matt Wisner added a win in the 800 along with anchoring the 4x800 to a new meet record. Matt also ran on both the 4x100 and 4x400 with Ali in those medal-winning performances. Our other individual winner was Isaac Kole in the 3200. Congrats Boys!

The Lady Herd, despite the increased competition this year did manage to defend their own Stan Morgan Crown scoring 72 points. 2nd place was Susquehanna Township with 61 and then Cumberland Valley with 59. Leading the way for the girls was Najae Nickerson who won both hurdle events and in the 300 race set a new school record! Maddie Kole won the 800 and led the 4x800 relay to a new meet record. Sarah Bourdon won the Pole Vault and Jilian Ingram won the high jump. A great night for Carlisle Track and field!

Carlisle vs Central Dauphin East

Wednesday, May 4

Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted Central Dauphin EAST yesterday. The boys handled the Panthers 98-47, while the Lady Herd defeated the Lady Panthers by an almost identical score of 103-47.

The boys were led by double event winner Chuckie Nist and Joe Brown. Chuckie won the Shot Put and Discus, while Joe won the High Jump and Long jump events. Other event winners for the Herd were Bryce Dunkelberger, Max Fiorentino, Ali Brown, Grant Shughart, Kevin Suero, and Sam Blumenthal.

The Girls were led by Jilian Ingram who won all three jumping events at High, Long, and Triple and Najae Nickerson who won both hurdle races. Other individual event winners for the girls were Addy Jastron, Maddie Kole, Meg, Lebo, Sarah Frick, Mary Smith, Sarah Pavlovich, and Sarah Bourdon.

The Girls are now 4-2 on the season while the Boys are 5-1.

Carlisle vs Central Dauphin

Wednesday, April 27

Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted Central Dauphin yesterday. The Herd rolled over the Rams by a score of 113 to 37. Several double event winners led the way for the boys. Prince Gaye won the 100 and 200, Matt Wisner won the 400 and 2mile, Ali Brown won both hurdle races, and Tyler Hallman won the mile and 800. Other individual event winners were Sam Blumenthal, Joe Brown, Kevin Suero, Colton Denlinger, and Connor Hamilton.

The Lady Herd had an equally successful day as they won 96-54. Double event winners on the girls side also were numerous. Emile Zukowski won both hurdle events, Meg Lebo won the mile and 800, Mary Smith won the Discus and Shot Put, and Jilian Ingram won both Long and Triple jumps. Other individual event winners were Sarah Bourdon and Abby Walters.

The Girls are now 3-2 on the season while the Boys are 4-1

Carlisle at Shippensburg Jack Roddick HS Invitational

Monday, April 25

Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Shippensburg University over the weekend and recorded several top-notch performances. Highlighting the day was Ali Brown for the Herd running hurdle events. He set not one, but two school records on the day! The 110 Hurdle record had stood for over 15 years. The 300 hurdles had been nearly ten years old! Congrats ALI BROWN! Also winning events for the boys was the 4x800 meter relay team of Matt Wisner, Tyler Hallman, Jared Griffie and Isaac Kole.

On the girls side Maddie Kole anchored a huge comeback win in the 4x800 relay, won the open 800 meter run and then led off for the silver medal winning 4x4 relay. On the 4x8 she was joined by Meg Tate, Meg Lebo, and Addy Jastron. On the 4x4 relay Addy Jastron, Abby Walters, and Najae Nickerson made up the team.

Carlisle at State College

Wednesday, April 20

It had been 2 years and a day since the Carlisle Boys' Track and Field team lost a dual meet and the streak hit a wall up in State College yesterday. The Little Lions, who were 2nd place at indoor states completely overwhelmed the Herd by a score of 123-27. The only event winners for the boys were Ali Brown in the High Hurdles and Joe Brown at High Jump.

On the girls side, the Lady Herd took their 2nd loss on the season, falling to the Lady Little Lions 96-54. Maddie Kole lead the way for the girls winning both the 400 and the 3200 while pacing the 4x8 relay to a win as well. Other event winners were Caitlyn Padgett in the 1600, Tyra Brown at javelin, and Jilian Ingram at High Jump.

Carlisle at Cumberland Valley

Wednesday, April 13

Carlisle Track teams headed to Cumberland Valley and the Lady Herd's dual meet winning streak came to an end after nearly 2 years, with an 88-62 loss. The Lady Herd was led by Jilian Ingram who won all three jumping events. Maddie Kole won both the 400 and 800. Other event winners were Najae Nickerson, Sarah Bourdon, and Mary Smith.

The Boys' team continued their own win streak and will head to State College next week to defend their Mid-Penn Commonwealth Crown. The Herd took down the Eagles by a score o 83-67. Chuckie Nist won both the Shot and Disc to lead the Herd along with Ali Brown who won both hurdle races. Other individual event winners were Matt Wisner, Jack Wisner, Isaac Kole, Joe Brown, and Kevin Suero.

Carlisle vs Chambersburg

Wednesday, April 6

The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted Chambersburg yesterday.

The Boys kept the season rolling with a 80-70 win over the Trojans. Leading the way was triple event winner Ali Brown who took both hurdle races as well as the triple jump. Isaac Kole, Matt Wisner and Prince Gaye were double event winners. Isaac won the mile and 2 mile, Prince won the 100 and 200, while Wisner won the 400, 800, and anchored 2 winning relay teams. Other individual event winners were Chuckie Nist at Discus, and Joe Brown at High jump.

The Lady Herd continued their Commonwealth defense by putting away the Lady Trojans by a score of 89-61. Leading the way for the girls were double event winners Jilian Ingram and Najae Nickerson. Najae won the 100 and 200, while Jilian won the Long jump and High Jump. Other individual event winners were Meg Lebo, Addy Jastron, Maddie Kole, Abby Walters, and Marlise Newson.

Carlisle at Mifflin County

Wednesday, March 30

The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled Mifflin County yesterday and came away with two wins to open the season.

The Thundering Herd boys came away with a 88-62 victory over the Huskies to open the season. Leading the way were double event winners Prince Gaye and Matt Wisner. Prince won the 100 and 200 while running on 2 winning relays, while Wisner won the 400, 800, and anchored 2 winning relay teams as well. Ali Brown was our 3rd double event winner taking both hurdle races. Other individual event winners were Isaac Kole in the 1600, and Chuckie Nist at Discus.

Not to be outdone, the Lady Herd rolled over the Lady Huskies by a similar score of 86-59. Leading the way for the girls was Jilian Ingram who won all 3 jumping events at Long, Triple and High. Meg Lebo and Emma Bateman were double event winners. Meg in the 200 and 400, while Emma won the 800 and 3200. Other event winners were Caitlyn Padgett in the 1600, and Dominique Scalia in the 100.
