Library Birthday Book Program

A book is a present you can open again and again. A Birthday Book given to the school library in honor of your child is a present that can be enjoyed again and again … year after year … student after student. Our librarian, with the help of PTO funds, has purchased numerous books to be used as Birthday Books for the library. Parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles are invited to select a book from our collection to honor a child’s birthday. When a Birthday Book is selected, the donator reimburses the PTO for the cost of the book. Then on the child’s birthday, or a date selected to recognize it, the title of the book and the child’s name are read during morning announcements. The Birthday Book is hand-delivered to the birthday child who is the first student to read it. Each child also is given a birthday card and bookmark. Each Birthday Book is labeled with a special bookplate indicating the student’s name, birthday and the names of those who are honoring the student with the purchase of the book. Why not give your child a gift that will last and will be enjoyed by many? Consider a Birthday Book donation to our school library. Books also can be donated to recognize other special events.
