The Chiara String Quartet, featuring Rebecca Fischer and Julie Hye-Yung Yoon (violin), Jonah Sirota (viola) and Gregory Beaver (cello), performed concerts at the CHS Swartz auditorium for elementary, middle and high school music students today.  The performance was part of the Dickinson College Outreach program that brings world-class musicians to our students at Carlisle.

At an age when most kids are caught up in video games and their own interests, one local girl is thinking of the needs of those who can't speak for themselves. Sienna Pegram, 10, a fourth-grader at Bellaire Elementary School, started a collection drive to gather much-needed items - like beds, blankets, toys, leashes and food - for Molly's Place Animal Rescue.Read more:... more info

Graduation Announcement order packets were distributed to seniors this morning. Orders will be taken on Wednesday, February 8th during lunches in the McGowan Cafeteria. If your child did not bring a packet home, extra packets will be available in the McGowan Office.

Max Stephens Wins the 7th Annual CHS Poetry Out Loud Recitation Contest

First place winner, Max Stephens, appears in the back row, 4th from the right
Poetry Out Loud begins at the classroom level where teachers encourage their students to memorize any one of the hundreds of poems – classic to contemporary – on the Poetry Out Loud website to recite before their peers.  This year, over 600 CHS students participated at this level.  Forty-five of those students recited poems at the school-wide competition on January 12.  Finalists... more info

GED® Classes to be Offered

Through a partnership with the Employment Skills Center, GED® classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday evening at Carlisle High School-Swartz Building beginning Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. To learn more about the program and the registration process for Semester II click on Adult Literacy Programs under the Department tab found on this website.
