Adventure Based Education

We are pleased that the Carlisle Area School district in partnership with the Carlisle Family YMCA will be conducting the Adventure Based Education Program for our special education classrooms. Many of you are aware of what the Adventure Based Education Program involves, but for others it is new. Adventure Based Education is an intensive program that focuses on promoting personal growth through teamwork and community service. It helps students build trust, self-esteem, communication skills, social skills, and learn to work together with others. It is broken down into various steps: goal setting, initiatives, community service and recreational activities. The students generally participate weekly in one of the activities. These activities will start in late September or early October and will continue until mid May. To see pictures from this year's program, please click on the link below.
