April 9: Family Communication for Learning and Enrichment

Carlisle Area School District Families,

As you may have heard, Governor Wolf has made the decision to close Pennsylvania schools through the end of the school year. We will continue to implement the CASD Learning and Enrichment Plan as originally presented.  Additional information will be forthcoming regarding seniors and end of year celebrations.

OFFICIAL FIRST DAY – TUESDAY!

As a reminder, Tuesday, April 14th is the official start to the District’s Learning and Enrichment program. We have just concluded a productive and successful “phase-in week,” and we look forward to fully implementing teaching and learning in this new capacity!

Please reinforce with your students that their active participation is critical to their success now and in the future, and that their engagement level will be reported on at the end of the marking period per the District’s implementation plan.

If your student has not yet logged into Seesaw (elementary) or Schoology (secondary), please ensure that this is done as soon as possible. If you or your student experiences difficulties accessing school activities, please contact your child’s teacher(s).

A NOTE ON VIDEO CONFERENCING

In recent days, there has been increased attention on the pros and cons of using video conferencing tools in schools and the workplace. Please be assured that the District has taken many actions to foster a safe and productive online learning environment for students. More information for students and families may be found at www.carlisleschools.org/COVIDTech. We also ask for our families’ support in reinforcing appropriate behaviors in the online setting so that all students may learn.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We wish everyone a safe and happy spring break.
