CARLISLE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT ATHLETIC GUIDELINES

2021-2022

IN GENERAL

  • CASD will follow CDC and local government protocol and/or recommendations during the Covid pandemic .
  • All athletes and coaches will be seated in bleachers on either side of the scoring table (Basketball) and at the north & south ends of the game mat (Wrestling). The chairs will be appropriately spaced to enforce social distancing. Spectator seating will be throughout the gymnasium and we ask that you social distance as much as you can.
  • Athletes will bring their own individual water containers. Refill stations will be available on site.
  • Locker room access will be available
  • Teams have the option to use  a friendly wave to the opponent that would be considered an acceptable positive gesture, indicating “thanks for a good game.” instead of walking through post-game congratulatory lines.
  • Athletes and the parents in attendance should not meet and gather at the end of the event until they are outside the building.
  • Disinfectant, hand sanitizer and wipes will be available on site.
  • Face coverings will be worn by everyone (players, coaches, game management, officials and spectators) all the time UNLESS they are actively participating in the contest. The face covering is required to cover the mouth and nose. A medical exemption must be properly documented and communicated 48 hours prior to the AD.
  • It is the responsibility of the game manager/administrator on duty to ensure the safety of all in attendance at the event. If anyone is not properly wearing their mask properly,  the game manager/administrator on duty will address the appropriate coach or spectator to rectify the situation. If inappropriate mask wearing continues the game manager/administrator on duty may pull our team from the floor until the unsafe situation is resolved. We simply ask all coaches and spectators exhibit a consistent effort is made to maintain the appropriate wearing of the face covering while at Carlisle events.
