CASD Students and Teachers Perform at TUBACHRISTMAS

CASD Students and Teachers Perform at TUBACHRISTMAS
On Friday, December 14, a small contingent of CASD baritone and tuba players performed in the annual TUBACHRISTMAS concert in Hershey.  This was the first time that a group of low brass players from our district participated!  They joined about 50 other baritone and tuba players to perform over 30 Christmas carols.  TUBACHRISTMAS began in 1974 at Rockefeller Center in New York City  and is now a world-wide phenomenon with concerts occurring in hundreds of cities around the world.  CASD participants include, from left to right: Kai Clements (WMS, 6th grade), Megan Hupfer (WMS band director), Evelyn Duque (LMS, 8th grade), Nolan Snyder (CES, 5th grade), Blaine Stoner (LMS, 8th grade), and Becky Weaver (elementary band director). Crestview’s Nolan Snyder received special recognition for being the youngest participant!  Performers ranged in age from 10 to 67.
