Kevin Wagner, teacher and social studies program chair, is the recipient of the Smart/Maher Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. (VFW) National Citizenship Education Teacher Award.  Kevin was one of three educators nationwide selected to receive the Teacher of the Year Award.  Established in 1999, the award recognizes teachers for their commitment to teaching Americanism and patriotism by promoting civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism in the classroom. The award is named after former VFW National Commander John Smart and retired VFW Quartermaster General Larry Maher.
