Mr. Owens Receives Recognition for Service

The Carlisle Area School District recognizes Mr. Bill Owens for his continued commitment and service to Carlisle High School (CHS) as a coach and mentor for many student-athletes.  A 1963 graduate of CHS and an athlete in football, basketball, track and field and baseball, “Coach” Owens, as he is known, has dedicated his life to serving his community by working with kids and adults in various capacities.  He has been inducted in the South-Central Chapter Hall of Fame and was recently honored at the PIAA Track Officials Convention for thirty years of service.  Coach Owens has been involved with Carlisle Athletics since the 1970’s, supporting his own children, coaching summer league teams, scouting, coaching football and basketball.

He continues to be a consistent presence in the gym and on the field.  He currently works at CHS as a hall monitor, assistant football coach, head coach for the 9th grade boys’ basketball team, and is involved with high school track and field.
