Student Registration 2021-22

If you would like assistance in completing this process in a language other than English, please contact the registrar's office at 717-240-6800 x17803.  The district will provide an interpreter for you at no cost.

Students must be five-years-old by August 31, 2021 to enroll in kindergarten.

Registration is REQUIRED for students new to the Carlisle Area School District (CASD), students returning from homeschooling, and students returning from a cyber charter school.

DO NOT complete this registration if your student is currently enrolled at CASD for in-person learning or the Carlisle Virtual Academy (CVA).

As of December 16, 2021, the process to register new students for CASD has changed. Please disregard any instructions you may have accessed prior to December 16.

There are three steps to complete the registration process.  Please review all steps before beginning the process.

Registration is currently ONLY for this current school year - 2021-22.  Please wait until February 1st for the 2022-23 registration process.

Step 1: Click here to complete the 'New Student Pre-Registration' formComplete this form for each child enrolling.

After the registrar has reviewed your initial submission, you will then receive another email with information to complete the online registration process. (Step 2 below)

Step 2: Complete the full registration form through the PowerSchool Parent portal.

Within two (2) business days of completing the pre-registration form (Step 1), you will receive an email to continue with the online registration process using the PowerSchool Parent portal.  That email will contain unique student access information. If you do not receive that information within two business days, please contact [email protected].

If, in the process of creating your PowerSchool Parent account, you do not receive the 'verification email', please check your spam, search for "powerschool" in your email, or email [email protected] to have your account manually verified. We have found that some email systems, such as gmail and yahoo, are not always delivering these verification emails.

As you complete the full registration form, you will have the option to upload various documents.  If you do not have access to digital forms of documents, please bring the paper copies to the onsite registration (Step 3 below) or drop them off at the Administrative Offices at 623 W Penn St Carlisle, during regular business hours.

Follow the instructions in the email to create or logon to an existing PowerSchool Parent account.  Once you are logged into your account, you will need to complete the following steps separately for each new student.

  1. Click on “Forms” (Along the left-side of the screen or via the app - go to the More... option).

  2. Click the link for "New Student Registration - Part 1". 

  3. When you click “Submit” at the end of each form, the system will automatically take you to the next section.

  4. After you have completed the final form, “New Student Registration - Part 8,” click back on “Forms” to view all your forms. Any form without a green leaf needs further attention.

  5. Once all your forms have a green leaf by them, you are finished with forms and may proceed to Step 3.

Repeat the process for each new student by clicking their name on the top blue menu bar and repeat steps 1-5 listed above.

Please complete all sections of the form as soon as possible to keep your registration process moving in a timely manner.

Step 3:  Once you have completed the registration through the PowerSchool Parent portal, make an appointment to meet with the registrar and finalize the registration.

Attend the appointment with the following information if you have NOT already submitted in the PowerSchool system (Step 2 above):

Proof of your child's age 
* Original birth certificate or a notarized copy of the birth certificate
* Valid passport

 Immunizations as required by law
* Immunization record
* Written statement from a medical office
Proof of residency for the parent/guardian (two documents required)
* Deed, lease, or sales agreement
* Notarized statement from landlord
* Mortgage information
* Utility bill
* Vehicle registration or vehicle insurance
* Driver's license or DOT identification card

* If residing with a district property owner, both forms for multiple occupancy (click here) must be completed and notarized.

Custody Paperwork, if applicable

IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable
