Middle School Counseling

The Middle School Counselor provides direct and indirect services to all students through the American School Counselor Association National Model.

Services include:

  • teaching the school counseling curriculum to all students through classroom lessons
  • providing individual short-term counseling to students
  • providing small group counseling sessions to address situational needs
  • monitoring students' academic progress throughout the year
  • leading orientation activities for 5th graders and new students
  • offering assistance to 8th grade students in selecting courses for the high school
  • referring students to outside agencies and/or community resources for additional assistance and information
  • consulting with parents, teachers, and community organizations to benefit a student
  • collaborating with educational partners to support student achievement
  • attending meetings regarding students


Please contact a school counselor if:

  • Your child is struggling academically
  • Your child is having problems in school
  • There has been a significant change in your home that might impact your child (e.g., family illness, divorce)
  • You would like to schedule an appointment with your student's counselor

Please contact the Counseling Center secretary if:

  • You would like to schedule a parent-teacher conference
  • You have changed addresses or telephone numbers
  • You are planning to move out of the area
  • You need a copy of your student's records
