Carlisle High School 9th graders were introduced to a young Colonel George Washington recently during a school program. Colonel Washington is portrayed by Daniel Cross, who brings him to life in Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area. The portrayal is different than most, as it shows Washington in his 20s, an age not too far removed from many high school students. Cross wove passages and tales from his research and Washinton’s personal letters. He conveyed the history of Washington’s life during his youth and experiences in the French and Indian War. Special thanks to Historic Carlisle, Inc., who made this presentation possible.
