Medical Terminology and Procedures I
Medical Terminology and Procedures I is an introduction to the essential practices relevant to
every career pathway in the Health Care industry. Topics include medical terminology, aseptic
techniques, infection control, body mechanics, body structure and function, exercise and
activity, fluids and nutrition, skin care, vital signs and rehabilitation. Instruction involves theory
and clinical practice within the classroom laboratory. Students complete the first aid, CPR and
AED certifications. Visits to area health care settings and instruction from medical
professional’s supplement course content. Students are expected to participate in job
shadowing experiences as they become available.
