International Language and Culture

Between 2017 and 2020 theWorld Language Department offered this class as International Culture and Travel.  Students who successfully completed International Culture and Travel earned one Arts & Humanities credit for CHS graduation requirements.

The World Language Department redesigned that course as of the 2020-2021 school year as ILC (or LaCE) to provide an intorductory marking period of study for each of our three sequential languages (French, German and Spanish) and one marking period of other cultural and linguistic studies.

Students interested in attending 4-year colleges and universities should be aware that a
ny world language courses offered outside of the normal scope and sequence of leveled French, German or Spanish classes do not replace the second year of high school language study that most institutes of higher learning suggest.  These courses are offered as alternative options for Arts & Humanities credits.
