Congratulations to Ana Bondy and Kolbin Heberlig on their outstanding representation of Carlisle at the Cross Country State Championship meet this past weekend!

Kolbin placed 60th, which is the highest place a Carlisle sophomore boy has claimed since Jack Wisner in 2016.

Ana claimed a State Medal with a 14th place finish.  Actually, when merging all classifications together, she was the 16th fastest in the entire state, an incredible accomplishment, and also as a sophomore!

On Saturday the District 3 Championships were held for Cross-Country.  Carlisle boys are in complete rebuild mode with no seniors in the varsity line-up, but still placed 10th overall.  Leading the way was Kolbin Heberlig, the only sophomore to earn a District Medal from any team.  Rounding out the team score were Grant Best, Seth Reichenbach, Josh Blanton, and Denny Shank.

The girls exceeded expectations on the day as well and placed top-20.  Leading the way for the herd was another sophomore, Ana Bondy, who placed 6th overall.  The girls contributing to the team scoring who followed Ana across the line were Elisabeth Bordner, Aubrey Mackey, Lauren Vertuli, and Natalya Kennedy.

Please wish Kolbin and Ana good luck as they will both travel to Hershey for the State Championships this Saturday!

Carlisle Cross Country teams met Cumberland Valley up at Mifflin County yesterday.  Last year it was the Eagles who snapped our boys' 7 year dual meet win streak, so it was time to get them back.  Despite CV taking 3 of the top 4 spots the Herd pushed 7 boys across the line ahead of the CV #4 to win the meet 28-31.  In the process the boys also beat Mifflin County 20-41.  Leading the way for the Herd was Kolbin Heberlig who was followed by scorers: Josh Blanton, Grant Best, Seth Reichenbach, Ben Kerr, Denny Shank, and Ben Smith.  The Herd finishes the regular season at 4-2.

Carlisle Girls' defeated the Lady Huskies by a score of 20-35, but fell to CV by a score of 23-34.  Ana Bondy won the race, and was followed by Elisabeth Bordner, Natalya Kennedy, Aubrey Mackey, and Lauren Vertuli.  The girls have finished the Commonwealth dual meet season at 3-3.

Carlisle XC was in action at CD East yesterday for a double dual with both East and Chambersburg.  The last time the Chambersburg boys won the Commonwealth title and beat the Herd was in late September of the year 2015 at this same location...and 8 years later, they pulled it off once more by a score of 19-38.  Our boys were led by Josh Blanton, Ben Kerr, Grant Best, Denny Shank, and Kolbin Heberlig.  Our boys did take the win 15-50 against CD East and are now 2-2 on the season.

Our girls fared equally well, beating CD East 15-50, but dropping the meet to the Lady Trojans by a score of 22-39.  The girls' meet was won by Carlisle's Ana Bondy, but Chambersburg's depth was too much for us.  Also factoring in the team scoring were Elisabeth Bordner, Natalya Kennedy, Lilly Kaden, and Anna Schadler.  The girls also are now 2-2 on the season with our final dual meet coming up next week.
