Carlisle at PIAA AAA State Championships
Monday, November 6
The Carlisle Cross Country team competed in the State Championships over the weekend and posted excellent results. On the girls' side Meg Lebo claimed the first State medal for Carlisle Girls XC since Marie Lamparter in 2006! Gracen Cabral also ran well and was very close to nabbing a medal of her own.
The boys ran a great race and placed 9th for the 3rd top-10 team finish in the past 5 years. It was a total team effort. Leading the way for the Herd and with all top 7 factoring in the team scoring were Jack Wisner, Cade Rush, Drew Barefield, Casey Padgett, Trent Balestri, Bryce Dunkelberger, and Jacob Morris.
Great job again to our Cross-Country teams on an outstanding season!
Carlisle at District III Championships

The Carlisle Cross Country team competed in the District 3 Championships over the weekend and are once again sending many of our runners on to States. For the 5th year in a row the Boys team has qualified by placing 3rd scoring 156 points. Leading the way was our only medalist, Jack Wisner who finished 4th. The rest of the team who will be representing Carlisle at the State Championships are Drew Barefield, Cade Rush, Casey Padgett, Bryce Dunkelberger, Jacob Morris, Trent Balestri, and Caleb Padgett.
The girls team placed 7th with 200 points, but were only 23 points away from finishing 3rd on the girls side. Leading the way were our three individual State Qualifiers: Meg Lebo, Sophia Toti and Gracen Cabral.
Great job again to our Cross-Country teams and wish them well at States next weekend in Hershey!
Carlisle at Mid-Penn Championships
Monday, October 16
The Carlisle Cross Country team competed in the Mid-Penn Championships over the weekend and produced some excellent results. The girls team placed 3 in the top-10 and picked up a 4th all-Conference medalist in captain Haily Midgley. This led the team to a 3rd place finish and we were actually closer to the winning State College team in front of us than we were to 4th place Chambersburg behind us. Our fantastic lead trio was paced by Meg Lebo's 4th place finish and right behind her were Gracen Cabral and Sophia Toti in 7th and 8th place.
The Boys' team successfully defended the Conference Championship from last year and thundered home to a repeat victory. Leading the way for the Herd were Jack Wisner, Casey Padgett, Cade Rush and Drew Barefield who were all in the top-15. Trent Balestri collected All Conference honors with a top-30 finish and rounding off the team scoring were Bryce Dunkelberger and Jacob Morris who were both top-40 as well. Carlisle placed 7 runners in front of all other teams' 5th best runner!
The future continues to be bright as Freshman Evan Peachey won the Tim Cook JV invitational that followed the Mid-Penn race, while on the girls side among 9th graders, Carlisle took the top 4 spots with Jaida Thomas, Alyssa Dyson, Mira Benson, and Sophie Salomone!
Great job again to our Cross-Country teams!

Carlisle vs Lower Dauphin/Northern
Wednesday, October 4
The Carlisle Cross Country team hosted both Lower Dauphin and Northern on Tuesday night for the conclusion of the dual meet season and made use of the good weather and good inter-division competition. The boys team had little issues handling either team and took wins of 19-41 and 15-48 over LD and Northern respectively. Jack Wisner won the race and was followed by Drew Barefield, Casey Padgett, Trent Balestri and Caleb Padgett who took 4 of the next 5 positions.
The Girls meet was a bit more closely contested as both the Lower Dauphin and Northern girls teams' won their respective divisions in the Mid-Penn. Our girls were up for a challenge though and even though the Commonwealth competition was over, still wanted to end the season undefeated. So the Lady Herd came out ready and put away the Lady Falcons 19-40, while handling the Lady Polar Bears 24-31. Leading the way for the Lady Herd was the trio of Meg Lebo, Sophia Toti and Gracen Cabral. Clinching the win against Northern was an outstanding race from senior captain Haily Midgley.
Both Boys and Girls Cross-Country teams end the regular season with perfect 8-0 Win/Loss records.

Carlisle hosted our gigantic Meet of Champions on Saturday with teams from 7 states. Over 90 teams and 2,500 runners descended upon the Travis Trail at Carlisle High School. The Lady Herd placed 9th overall and were led by our best top-3 in school history. Meg Lebo, Sophia Toti, and Gracen Cabral. Wrapping up the team scoring with huge PRs were Haily Midgley and Gretal Shank.
The boys finished an impressive 3rd to only the defending State Champions from Council Rock North and currently top-ranked LaSalle College High School. Jack Wisner became only the 2nd Junior in Carlisle history to run under 16 minutes. He was followed by a great pack made up of Cade Rush, Drew Barefield, Casey Padgett, and Jacob Morris.
Carlisle vs. Chambersburg
Wednesday, September 27
The Carlisle Cross Country team hosted Chambersburg last night and on the girls side was the final dual meet between the two undefeated teams in the Commonwealth. The Lady Trojans had not lost a dual meet since 2015, but they did last night as our girls rose to the occasion! We gave up the individual win, but in an incredible team effort the Lady Herd captured the division title. Leading the way were Meg Lebo, Sophia Toti, and Gracen Cabral and Haily Midgley. Also factoring in the 26-30 scoring were Gretal Shank, Delaney Mullen, Janie Thompson, and Lilly Cowley. Way to go Girls!
The Boys' team had already locked up the division crown last week, but left no doubt with a 21-39 drilling of the Trojan boys. Winning the meet individually was Jack Wisner and he was closely followed by Andrew Barefield, Casey Padgett, Bryce Dunkelberger, Caleb Padgett and Trent Balestri, all of whom were in before the Chambersburg #3.
Both Boys and Girls Cross-Country teams stand undefeated in the Commonwealth at 6-0 with division play now complete.
Carlisle vs. Mifflin County
Wednesday, September 20
The Carlisle Cross Country team hosted Mifflin County last night as the regular season nears its end. The scores on both sides were identical blowouts 19-42.
The Boys' team took 10 of the top 12 positions in the race as Jack Wisner won, followed by Casey Padgett. Drew Barefield, Caleb Padgett, Cade Rush, Jacob Morris, and Trent Balestri rounded out the boys scoring.

Both Boys and Girls teams stand undefeated in the Commonwealth at 5-0 with only one division race against Chambersburg to go. On the Girls side the Lady Trojans are also undefeated. Our Boys have already clinched at least a share of the Division title as the only undefeated team left standing.
