Carlisle at New Balance Nationals at the University of Pennsylvania
June 16, 2023
Five athletes from Carlisle travelled to New Balance Nationals at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia to compete at the highest level in the championship division. Emily Leatherman ran the 2K Steeplechase where she crushed her own school record with a new time of 7:13.68 and placed 20th. The boys 4x800m relay of Darian Crim, Ryan Brody, Andrew Diehl, and Kevin Shank ran 8:03.48 and placed 50th. What a great way to finish the season. Congratulations everyone! Herd Strong!
Carlisle at State Championship at Shippensburg University

Carlisle Track & Field traveled to the state championships over the weekend. The Herd wrapped up the season with the boys 4x8 finishing 10th with a new PR of 7:55.04. They have also qualified to compete at New Balance Nationals in a few weeks. Best of luck at nationals!
Carlisle at District 3 Championship at Shippensburg University

Congratulations to the boys and girls track & field teams for their performances at the District 3 Championships! The boys 4x800 relay of Darian Crim, Ryan Brody, Andrew Diehl, and Kevin Shank ran 7:55.09 to take 4th place and advance to the state championships this weekend.
Darian Crim broke the school record again in the 400 meter run with a new time of 49.56. He took third place and will also complete individually at the state meet. Kevin Shank placed third in the 3200 with a new PR of 9:15.61 and also qualified to compete individually at the state meet.
On the girls side, the 4x800 relay team of Ana Bondy, Maeve Evans, Emily Leatherman, and Inga Parfeni ran 9:33.46 to place fifth and also advance to the PIAA state championships this weekend. Congratulations to all of these athletes and best of luck representing Carlisle at the state championships!

Carlisle at Mid Penn Championships at Chambersburg

Carlisle Track & Field traveled to the Mid Penn Championships on Saturday. The Herd had a great day in the field and on the track despite the rain. Leading the way was Darian Crim who set the Carlisle High School record in the 400 meter run with his time of 49.78. Congratulations Darian! The 49.85 record was previously held by Tim Palmer and had stood since 1985.
In the field, Paulie Pretopapa PR’d in Javelin taking 3rd place. On the girls side, Kelsey Trumble took 3rd place in javelin with her throw of 115’ 2”.
In addition to Darian, Paulie and Kelsey, advancing to the District 3 AAA Championships on Friday and Saturday are Emily Sheffe (shot put), Terrence Steele (110m hurdles), Ana Bondy, Andrew Diehl, Emily Leatherman and Kevin Shank (800m), Ana Bondy and Maeve Evans (1600m), Kevin Shank (3200m), the girls 4x800 relay which at the Mid Penn Championship was run by Maeve Evans, Emily Leatherman, Savannah Oakes and Ana Bondy (additional qualifiers are Inga Parfeni and Jayde Thomas), and the boys 4x800 relay Andrew Diehl, Darian Crim, Ryan Brody, Kevin Shank; additional qualifiers Ben Kerr and Zeke Walter).

Mifflin County at Carlisle

Carlisle Track and Field hosted Mifflin County on Tuesday. The Herd swept the Huskies 87.5 to 62.5 on the boys side, and 107 to 43 on the girls side. Kevin Shank and Andrew Diehl led the way for the Herd sweeping the 1600 and the 3200. In throws, Drew Hopper and Michael Witkowski led the way in sweeping the shot put and discus.
The Lady Herd swept the Huskies in all three relays, the 800, 3200, shot put, and pole vault with Ana Bondy, Emily Leatherman, and Maeve Evans securing many points across the running events.
The Herd finishes the dual meet season 4-4 on both sides and will travel to Chambersburg for the Mid Penn Championships on Saturday.
Central Dauphin at Carlisle
Tuesday May 2
Carlisle Track & Field played host to Central Dauphin on Tuesday. The Herd boys defeated the Rams 75 to 65. The Herd was led by Terrence Steele winning the 110 hurdles and the long jump, and Evan Rice, Terrence Steele, and Xavier Campbell sweeping triple jump.
The Lady Herd also defeated the Rams 80.5 to 60.5. The Herd was led by Ana Bondy, Maeve Evans, and Emily Leatherman sweeping the 800; Inga Perfini, Jayde Thomas, and Ana Bondy sweeping the 1600; and Kelsey Trumble, Rachel Plant, and Sophie Mohr sweeping the Javelin. The Herd hosts the Stan Morgan Invitational at Carlisle on Saturday and has their last dual meet against Mifflin County at home on Tuesday.
Carlisle at Cedar Cliff Relays
Saturday April 29
Carlisle Track & Field took home two trophies from the John Kambic Memorial Cedar Cliff Relays Saturday. The Lady Herd led the way scoring 69 points by winning the sprint medley, distance medley, the shot put, and pole vault to win the girls team trophy. On the boys side, the Herd scored in the top six in all but three events and took third. With their 57 points and the girls 69 points, they claimed the boys and girls combined team trophy. The Herd takes on Central Dauphin at home on Tuesday.
Cumberland Valley at Carlisle
Tuesday April 25
The Herd fell to the Eagles 49 to 101 despite multiple PR’s on the day. Leading the way for the Herd was Darian Crim, winning the 400 and getting closer to the school record of 49.85, with his time of 50.36, Kevin Shank’s victory in the 3200, and Xavier Campbell wining the high jump with his jump of 5-8.
The Lady Herd also fell to the Eagles 46 to 104 with Ana Bondy taking first in the mile and 2nd in the 2 mile, Maeve Evans taking first in the 2 mile and second in the mile, Kelsey Trumble, Alexa Riccio, and Rachel Plant sweeping CV in the Javelin, and Sarah Waleski taking first in the Discus. The Herd travels to Cedar Cliff on Saturday.

Carlisle at Jack Roddick Invitational (Shippensburg University)
Saturday April 21
Despite multiple weather delays, a new school record was set! Emily Leatherman took 2nd place in the 2K Steeplechase setting a new school record with her time of 7:25.12. Congratulations Emily! The record that Emily broke (7:48.62) was set by Julia Ledgett in 2017 who went on to run at UNC Wilmington.
Carlisle at Altoona
Thursday April 13
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to Altoona on Tuesday. The Herd fell to the Mountain Lions 58 to 92. The Herd was led by Kevin Shank winning the 1600, 800, and 3200. The Lady Herd also fell to the Mountain Lions 43 to 107. The Lady Herd was led by Jayde Thomas taking first in the 3200 and Emily Leatherman taking first in the 400. Both teams travel to Cumberland Valley next Tuesday.
CD East at Carlisle
Thursday April 13
Carlisle Track and Field hosted Central Dauphin East on Tuesday. In a battle that came down to the last event, the Herd claimed a 76 to 74 victory over the panthers. The Herd swept nearly all distance events and picked up key points in sprints and in the field at the last minute with Terrence Steele earning the final 4 points needed to win the meet with his performances in long jump and shot put. Multiple event winners included Darian Crim in the 400 and long jump. On the girls side, the Lady Herd won 96 to 54, sweeping the distance events, pole vault, and earning key points in hurdles and jumps. Multiple event winners included Jayde Thomas in the 1600 and the 3200. Both teams are 2-2 this season and travel to Altoona on Tuesday..
Carlisle at Chambersburg
Tuesday April 11
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to Chambersburg on Tuesday. The Herd fell on both sides to the Trojans, who are among the top teams in the Mid-Penn, but the day included PR’s all around on both sides. Notable performances on the boys side included Andrew Diehl winning the 800 and 3200, Kevin Shank winning the 1600, and our winning 4x8 of Darian Crim, Ryan Brody, Kevin Shank, and Andrew Diehl. Notable performances on the girls side included Emily Leatherman winning the 400, Ana Bondy winning the 800, Maeve Evans winning the 3200, and our winning 4x8 team of Maeve Evans, Inga Parfeni, Emily Leatherman, and Ana Bondy. The Herd takes on CD East at home on Thursday.
Harrisburg at Carlisle
Tuesday April 4
Carlisle Track & Field took on Harrisburg at home on Tuesday. The Herd defeated Harrisburg on both sides with the boys winning 87.5 to 62.5. The Herd swept the cougars in the 1600m run, the 800m run, 3200m run, shot put, javelin, and pole vault to secure the victory in a true team effort. The girls team won 86 to 64 sweeping the cougars in the 1600m run, 800m run, 3200m run, high jump, and pole vault to secure the team victory. Leading the way for the Lady Herd was Emily Leatherman taking first in both the 800m run and the 400m run. The Herd travels to rival Chambersburg next Tuesday.
Bruce Dallas Invitational (at Cumberland Valley HS)
Saturday April 1
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to the Bruce Dallas Invitational over the rainy weekend. The Herd was led by Bear (Darian) Crim capturing the Bruce Dallas title in an angry 400 meter run with a new personal record of 50.82 seconds. The Lady Herd took first place in the Distance Medley Relay consisting of Emily Leatherman, Elisabeth Bordner, Maeve Evans, and Ana Bondy. Both teams play host to Harrisburg tomorrow in their first home meet of the season.

Carlisle at State College
Tuesday March 29
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to State College on Tuesday. On the boys side, the Herd fell short 36 to 101 against an experienced State College team coming off of a full indoor season. Notable performances include Kevin Shank taking first in the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run, Darian Crim taking first in the 400 meter run and second in both the 100 meter run and long jump, and the boys 4x1 team of Paulie Pretopapa, Peyton Mitchell, Kenny Tran, and Darian Crim taking first. The girls also fell short 40 to 110. The Lady Herd was led by Emily Leatherman taking first in the 400 meter run and third in the 800 meter run, Ana Bondy taking first in the 3200 meter run, Emily Sheffe taking first in the shot put and second in the discus, Sara Waleski taking first in the discus, and Kelsey Trumble taking first in the javelin. The Herd travels to Cumberland Valley on Saturday for the Bruce Dallas Invitational and will take on Harrisburg next week for their first home meet of the season.

Tim Cook Invitational (at Chambersburg HS)
Saturday March 27
Carlisle Track & Field opened the 2023 season at the Tim Cook Memorial Invitational in Chambersburg over the weekend. The Herd was led by Darian Crim taking first in the boys 400-meter dash, Kevin Shank taking second in the boys 1600-meter run, and Andrew Diehl taking second in the boys 800-meter run. The Lady Herd was led by Ana Bondy with a second-place finish in the girls 1600 meter run. Both teams travel to State College tomorrow for the first dual meet of the season.
