New to Herd Football?

If you are new to Carlisle football, below are a few things to know.
  • Carlisle High School has Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams. Our school is in the Mid-Penn  Conference of District 3, in the PIAA. Our youth "feeder" program is Carlisle Area Midget Football & Cheer
  • Players have the opportunity to attend off-season workouts throughout the summer. If your student is considering playing in the fall, they are strongly encouraged to attend summer workouts!

Players attend team camp at Lebanon Valley College every July. Again, aspiring players are strongly enouraged to attend. The Boosters provide players with opportunities to earn money to help cover the cost of camp. In the past, these opportunities have included working shifts at the Boosters' concession stand at the Carlisle Fairgrounds and selling raffle tickets.
  • Practice begins in August with two weeks of Heat Acclimation. Participation is mandatory, per PIAA rules. If your child plans to play in the fall, they must be present for practices/Heat Acclimation in August.
  • The Football Boosters play an essential role in helping to support the players and the program. Visit the Football Boosters' webpage for more information!
