The Rotary Club of Carlisle recently honored John Peters, a senior at Carlisle High School as their Student of the Month. He has consistently performed with excellence in the classroom, earning a 4.385 GPA on a 4-point scale. He has taken a demanding course load with all courses at the Honors and Advanced Placement level.
John has maintained a remarkable level of academic success while remaining committed to many other extracurricular activities. He has been on our Student Council for 4 years serving one year as Vice President. He has been involved with Model UN all 4 years. He is a member of not only the National Honor Society, but also the Spanish Honor Society and the English Honor Society due to outstanding academic performance. Additionally, he is an Eagle Scout.
John is an avid golfer and has excelled in the sport at his young age! He has been on our Varsity golf team all 4 years and served as captain for 2 years. He won the PA Jr. State Championship this past June. He won an American Junior Golf Association event in July in NJ and he is ranked #85 among all junior golfers according to the Rolex AJGA Rankings. In 2019, he was named as the Sentinel’s Player of the Year. He serves as an usher and a scripture reader at Carlisle United Methodist Church. He has also helped in the community with food drives and with auctions at CALC.
