State-Mandated Trainings
State-mandated trainings are those trainings required by the state of Pennsylvania. They are a professional responsibility of each Pennsylvania educator.
Employees must complete:
Act 126: Child Abuse Awareness Training - every 5 years
Act 71: Suicide Awareness Training – 4 hours every 5 years (recommend 1 hour per year)
Act 55: School Safety and Security – 3 hours every year, provided by the district
Act 55: Structured Literacy – provided by the district
PSSA/Keystone Training – yearly for test proctors
PASA Training – yearly for test proctors
EPI-Pen Training – every 2 years for elementary teachers and for secondary teachers supervising field trips
Act 126: Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting

From within the program, click “View Library”, click “Search” in the top, blue bar and enter “Act 126”
Select and complete each of the following three parts:
PA Act 126 Part 1 (Child Abuse and Mandatory Reporting)
PA Act 126 Part 2 (Educator Discipline Act)
Act 126 CASD Child/Student Abuse Policy Course.
These three parts do not need to be completed at one time; however, all three sections need to have a certificate of completion.
Once your training has been completed, please save the certificate for part 3 which will list 213 minutes of training. Open the certificate in Vector Solutions to save a copy. Depending on how it opens, you may right click on the certificate image to “save as” or “print” to Adobe PDF to save a copy on your computer which you can then upload to SCView.
All certificates need to be submitted through MySCView using a computer/laptop (not an iPad/tablet or Smartphone).
Your certificate will be reviewed. Once approved, the issue
date will be updated in the CSIU portal and you will then have met
the Act 126 requirement for another five years.

Act 71: Suicide Awareness

Click the Youth Suicide: Awareness, Prevention and Postvention, choose the module titled "Pennsylvania Act 71 (CASD)".
Epi-Pen Training

In addition, staff must demonstrate use of an Epi-Pen with their building nurse.
