Required Courses for Program Completion: Early Childhood Education I-II-III-9 credits total

The Childcare-Early Childhood Education program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing careers working with young children through elementary education. A Capstone Cooperative Education experience is available to eligible students in their senior year.

Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA Certification): A widely recognized and entry level credential for early care providers based on a core set of competency standards which guide early care professionals in their work. This certification is awarded to seniors who complete 120 hours of formal childcare education and 480 hours of experience working with children aged 3-5 in a group setting.

American Red Cross-First Aid Certification: Students who earn this credential are certified to care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, heck, neck and back injuries and heat and cold emergencies.

American Red Cross-Infant and Child CPR: Students who earn this credential are certified to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in infants and children under 12 years of age.
