Behind the Wheel

Behind -the- Wheel

Course Description

We understand that learning to drive can potentially be a stressful, confusing, and challenging experience for both students and parents. The Behind-the-wheel program is an optional 6-hour course offered at Carlisle High School to provide a calm and supportive environment for optimal learning. Completing this course will provide students with a wide range of driving experience with a professional instructor that will advance their driving skills regardless of experience.

Course Benefits:

  • Lessons are designed for individual students based off strengths and weaknesses.
  • Most insurance companies offer a discount on insurance for completing course.
  • Students who complete the course may take the PENNDOT approved driver license test at Carlisle High School.  (You will not need to schedule your test months in advance though PENDDOT.  There is no need to monitor a website as testing may be scheduled year-round directly with an instructor.)
  • Completing this course allows students to apply for a Senior License before they are 18.
