Welcome to Bison Thundering Herd Cheerleading

Spirit - Competition - Community

Carlisle school spirit is crazy!

CHS cheerleaders have excelled in school spirit and sideline cheer for many years.  They lead the students referred to has the "Carlisle Crazies" through football and basketball seasons with smiles and enthusiasm for the game, and in recent years have added a competitive cheerleading team to earn PIAA distinction for themselves.

The CHS competitive cheerleading team began in 2014 under the direction of Coach Julie Gelbaugh.  The team has qualified for the state cheerleading competition through the District 3 Championships each season since.   Competitive cheerleading consists of a routine which showcases sideline skills with signs, poms and megaphones.  Cheerleaders also perform a 2 and a half minute routine with music that includes stunts, jumps and tumbling.  Teams are judged on difficulty and execution.  Carlisle is proud to have the bragging rights of earning the right to participate in four consecutive State PIAA competitions held each year at the Giant Center in Hershey PA.

Carlisle Cheerleaders are also community cheerleaders...
Cheerleaders provide instruction and camps for the local Midget Cheer program, supporting our youth.

Cheerleaders also provide support for back to school nights at local elementary schools, Kindergarten bus orientation,  Penn Live Media day, Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk,  Buck-a-Book Literacy campaign, St.Pats community fair, and the Downtown mile for the Employment Skills Center.
