Public schools in the state of Pennsylvania are required to have students at the end of their 5th grade year and 8th grade year, complete the PSSA test in science. Typically, PSSA testing occurs during the month of April.
This year, the science PSSA exam was a field tested exam. More information will be provided throughout the year regarding this new exam, which was aligned to the STEELS standards, which went into effect July 1, 2025.
The CASD science staff takes every opportunity to prepare students for success on the PSSA and the curriculum has recently changed to a spiraled curriculum. You can find all curricular documents in the "Curriculum" option on the left-hand navigation pane.
